Privacy policy

What we collect

You can study without an account. If you create one, we store the email and password you give us (the password is hashed), the JLPT level you pick, whether you are on Free or Pro, and the study data attached to that account: mock-test sessions, answers, notebook entries and progress. Guest sessions use a random identifier in this browser so work is not lost before you sign up; it is not your name or email.

Cookies we set

Signed-in visits use cookies so you stay signed in: an access token, a refresh token, and a small non-httpOnly hint that only records whether you are on Free or Pro (so ads can hide for Pro without making every page dynamic). We also store your chosen JLPT level in a cookie so the header can point at the right lists. These are first-party cookies for running the site, not for advertising.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Free pages may show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or at aboutads.info. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at Google’s partner-sites policy. Advertising cookies and similar technologies are also covered in Google’s advertising policy.

Pro subscribers do not see these ads. We do not sell your personal information.

How we use it

To run the site: keep you signed in, remember your level, save progress, unlock Pro content you have paid for, show or hide ads, and reply when you write to us. We do not use your study answers to profile you for advertising.

Who else sees it

Hosting and infrastructure providers process data as needed to keep the site online. Google receives what AdSense needs to serve and measure ads on Free pages. If you buy a Pro subscription, the payment provider processes the charge; we do not store full card numbers. We share data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account and study data stay until you ask us to delete the account, or until we close an unused account. Session cookies expire on the lifetimes described when they are set. Browser storage (progress, guest id) stays on your device until you clear it.

Your choices

You can use the site without an account. You can sign out, clear cookies and local storage, or opt out of personalised ads as above. To see, correct or delete account data, email info.omartech@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; write to the same address and we will handle the request.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated policy. Using the site is also covered by the Terms of service.
